Set up your travel eSIM.

Install the profile with an internet connection. When your plan allows, turn it on for mobile data at your destination.

Before you start

Open the order for the eSIM you want to install.

  • Compatible, unlocked phone. Check the exact model and purchase region.
  • Reliable internet. Keep Wi-Fi connected while downloading the profile.
  • Your plan’s start rule. Check when validity starts. Follow the rule shown for your plan before installing. If your current location is included, turning the line on before departure may start its validity.

Add your travel line

  1. Open the installation details

    In My eSIMs, open your ready order. On a compatible iPhone, use Open installation on a compatible iPhone and follow the system prompts. Installation links require iOS 17.4 or later.

  2. Or enter the details manually

    Go to Settings → Cellular / Mobile Data → Add eSIM. Choose the manual-entry option, usually under Use QR Code → Enter Details Manually. Copy the SM-DP+ address and activation code from your order into their matching fields.

  3. Label the line

    Give the new line a name you will recognise, such as “OffWeGoSIM”. Add it as a separate travel line; you do not need to transfer your home number.

  4. Choose it for data when ready

    At your destination, following the plan’s start rule, select the travel line under Cellular / Mobile Data. Enable that line and its Data Roaming setting. Keep home-line roaming and automatic data switching off to avoid unintended home-carrier data use.

What if my QR code is on this phone?

If you have been provided a QR code, iOS 17.4 or later can offer Add eSIM when you press and hold it in a supported email app or browser. Otherwise display it on another screen, or use the installation link or manual details in your order. A camera cannot scan its own screen.

Samsung and Pixel use different menus. Names can also vary with software version and region.

Pixel instructions

  1. Open your order and add the eSIM

    Stay on Wi-Fi. Open your ready order for its installation details, then use the settings path above. If a QR code has been supplied, choose the scan option and display the code on another screen.

  2. Use the manual option if available

    Look for Enter activation code or a manual-entry option. Follow the fields your phone shows. If your phone requests one complete string, copy Full activation code (Android) from your order. If it shows separate address and code fields, use the matching fields instead. Contact support if the requested format differs.

  3. Finish downloading the profile

    Follow the prompts and give the line a clear label. Check your plan’s activation rule before enabling it so you know when its validity begins.

  4. Select the travel eSIM for mobile data

    When ready to connect at your destination, enable the travel line, choose it for Mobile data and enable roaming for that line. Leave your home line’s data roaming off, and turn off automatic data switching if your phone offers it.

Installed, but no internet?

Check these before changing or deleting the profile.

  1. Confirm the destination. Your current country or territory must be included in this exact plan.
  2. Check the selected line. The travel eSIM must be enabled and selected for mobile data. Check its roaming setting.
  3. Check the plan. Review its start rule, validity and remaining data in My eSIMs. Usage updates may be delayed.
  4. Check the supplied settings. Only enter an APN if one is shown in your order or support gives you specific instructions. Do not guess an APN.
  5. Reconnect. Briefly turn airplane mode on and off, then allow the phone time to register. If it still fails, note the error and contact support.

Deleting a profile can prevent reuse. Reinstallation and transfer depend on the plan and provider; they are not guaranteed.
